why hello there,
Ready for the long version?
There’s a lot I could say about myself, so here’s the short version.
I’m an ex-corporate communications specialist with a penchant for storytelling, a whole lot of ‘main character energy', and a mad set of skills when it comes to events and experiences.
For the last 5 years I’ve been designing events, spaces, and experiences that are unlike other and will be forever remembered as everyone’s favourite moments.
Because life’s better when you’ve got something epic to look forward to.
IT ALL STARTED ON YOUTUBE IN 2010
Having grown up in rural Victoria with far too much free time, I found myself filming videos, teaching myself how to edit, learning how to green screen, and uploading 1 video a week for 3 years straight.
Over the years I got pretty popular online, and ended up being invited on the #1 under 16s girls collaboration Youtube channel in the world.
With over 40+ million views on my videos, international sponsorships and being recognised in public, I gave it up to focus on finishing high school.
Oh, and I turned 17 - which wasn’t allowed.
..AND THEN SHE became A MELBOURNIAN
I realised once I moved to Melbourne that my life in rural Victoria was small.
Really small.
And I just knew that wasn’t going to be my story.
So, over the next 5 years, I studied film, got into the best advertising degree in Australia, learned Swedish, learned to ski, was head hunted to host a huge event, became an influencer for Melbourne Central, worked with Melbourne Fashion week, travelled Europe, travelled Japan, and most importantly:
I met Elliott.
ELLIOTT + CAITLIN = NORD EVENTS
NORD was an underground party community I built and co-ran with my best friend Elliott for 4 years. We hosted warehouse parties, experiential experiences, and community-building events across our warehouses in North Melbourne & Collingwood.
Elliott was an escape room designer who created immersive worlds and intricate storylines for our events, and I was the producer who translated his ideas into reality.
Together, we threw some incredible events, built a beautiful community, and created so many unforgettable moments for hundreds of people.
I wouldn’t be who I am without Elliott, and I’m so glad we met.
FLASH FORWARD TO 2024
It’s been 2 years since Elliott died.
While I miss him so much, I know he wants me to continue bringing colour to the world through shared experiences and unforgettable events and moments.
And that’s what I’ve done.
Over the last 2 years, I’ve produced campaigns seen by millions, got lost and found myself at the Australian Burning Man, attended 9 festivals all around the world, been flown to Europe to help create an unforgettable birthday experience, been flown to Indonesia to help create another unforgettable birthday experience, accidentally become a Doof-influencer, and so, so much more.
Some words I like to remind myself of are: ‘we do not remember days, we remember moments’
And this is the exact reason why I love helping to shape events, craft experiences, and most of all - create moments to remember.
There’s a lot more to my story, but these are the important moments.
Thank you so much for reading mine.
